A hard wood pattern block with it’s thin brass strip attached is again used to gauge and then line the opening for the door window frame, with a ‘T’ section brass strip bent to conform to the lower section of the door frame, both of which are then soft soldered in place. The door is made an exact fit for it’s opening, then Sellotape in place. Hinges are made from nickel silver sheet and soft soldered to the door and body sides, then part of the door frame is assembled with soft solder, with an aluminium distance piece in place to accommodate an allowance for paint thickness and the door to be able to open.
