1933  Murphy Boat Tailed Speedster J Duesenberg

The building of the Speedster follows my normal practice already described, excepting for the Aluminium decking.  This was formed after the usual body work in copper and brass, and worked over it while still on the hard wood master pattern.  After final shaping and scratch brushing, rather than a polished finish, the parts were then epoxy resined in place.  The other feature of this car is the polished wood running board, in this case pear wood.  The chromed foot strips/pads were individually machined in brass, plated and painted , then located and held in place by he two pins on each.
